Review of A Sound Among the Trees

A Sweet read.   A Sound Among the Trees is the second  book that I read by Susan Meissner but it will not be the last.  From the first page I was lost in the story. I enjoyed the read but it was not my favorite of Susan's books.
After reading A Sound Among the Trees Susan Meissner is still one of my go to authors.

"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review." All thoughts are my own.

Reviews

With school having started back and the work load and reading for school I have; I have barely been able to read for fun. So for a while reviews may me short just giving the basic information about the book, and my rating. I do have a few review books to read, those will be longer like my normal reviews. One book from book sneeze, and another from blogging for books. Plus a few for netgalley.

Some of the books that I have to read for school are not text books but rather interesting to read. I may review those.  I plan to be back on my normal schedule by February. I will still have the weekly post of what I am reading.

Victoria Rebels follows Queen Victoria from later childhood to the first few years of marriage to Prince Albert. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would but it was still a good read.

Review of To Whisper Her Name

Pinned ImageTitle: To Whisper Her Name

Author: Tamera Alexander

Series:  A Belle Meade Plantation Novel

Pages: 475

Genre: Christian Historical Fiction, Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Another great read from Tamera Alexander. To whisper Her Name combined two of my favorite things into one awesome novel horses and history. Most of the books that I read come alive to me in many ways. This book was no different. However To Whisper her Name came alive to me in ways that books have never come alive before. I think that it was because I have actually been to Belle Meade and know what the house and grounds look like.
I feel in love with the characters of Olivia Aberdeen and Ridley Adam Cooper. I cannot wait till the next book in the series.

Review of Still Lolo

Pinned ImageTitle: Still Lolo

Author: Lauren Scruggs and the Scruggs Family

Series: no

Chapters: 32 plus epilogue

Pages: 248

Genre: Memoir non fiction

Rating: 5 stars

Still Lolo is a memoir of Lauren Scruggs and her family and the tragedy that changed their lives. But through all of it they didn’t lose their faith. Though Lauren lost her left eye and hand in an accident with an airplane poralle she didn’t let that stop here. She’s uses what she went through to reach young girls. To show them that worth is not in what they look like, but who they are on the inside.
The book has an introduction by Bethany Hamilton the young surfer who lost her arm to a shark bite. Both young women stood strong in their faith in God. He was there strength when they had none.
I enjoyed Lauren’s story and learned a lot. Still Lolo is a heartwarming story of courage, strength, and overcoming life’s struggles.
