Windswept Way by Irene Hannon review

Title: Windswept Way

Author: Irene Hannon

Ch: 28 plus epilogue

Pg: 352

Series: Hope Harbor book 9

Genre: contemporary Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Publisher: Revell

I have to say Windswept away by Irene Hannon is my favorite book in the Hope Harbor series. Jon and Ashley were definitely my favorite couple. I got a bit a Beauty and the beast vibes from the story. And of course, something in the story confirmed it for me. Ashley wants a fresh start while restoring a historic home to its former glory. While Jon is a wounded warrior that wants to make a success of his landscaping business. Neither are looking for romance or a relationship, but God has other plans.

I also enjoyed meeting Rose. She was the sweetest and I feel like she became a grandma figure to Ashley. And there’s nothing like Charle’s wisdom. As well as the friendship between Reverend Baker and Father Murphy that somehow works. And just like previous Hope Harbor novels it’s like visiting with old friends.

This was a sweet romance that not only romantic love but the love between friends and the love God has for his children. As well as showing how God can bring good from evil.

After The Shadows by Amanda Cabot review

Title: After the Shadows

Author: Amanda Cabot

Ch: 32

Pg: 342

Series: Secret of Sweetwater Crossing

Genre: Christian Historical fiction with a little Bit of romance and mystery

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

I’m not going to lie After the Shadows is my first Amanda Cabot novel, but it won’t be my last. I enjoyed that it while it was a historical fiction it also had a bit of romance and mystery to it.

It was the mystery part of the book that kept me turning pages to find out what happened. I loved that Craig, the new schoolteacher and new to town believed Emily when no one else did. It took me a bit to warm up to Emily but when I did, I loved her. Though I had to say my two favorites were Noah because he was such a toddler. And Beulah and not just because that’s my grandmas name but because she was a sweetheart, and I loved her child like faith.

Though my favorite part was the gift that Beulah’s grandma gave her on page 137 that was technically from Emily’s mother. It was bittersweet because it hit close to home.

With this one I laughed and I cried. And of course, solved a mystery. Can’t wait for book two in the series.

Blind Trust by Natalie Walters review

Title: Blind Trust

Author: Natalie Walters

Ch: 35

Pg: 311

Series: SNAP agency

Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense

Rating: 5 stars

Publisher: Revell

What a great ending for an awesome series. I have to say Blind Trust is my favorite of the series. I loved getting more of the banter between Lyla and Nicolas as well as watching their relationship grow and change. But more importantly to finally get their story. I also loved spending time with the team. And Kekoka gives off a combination of little brother and big brother at the same time.

At first glance Nicolas and Lyla don’t look like they work, and Blind Trust from start to finish shows readers the journey that started at the end of book one. And what a journey it was, the added suspense not only kept this reader turning to the page to find out what happened but also wondering if Nicolas has any gray from the adventure. Lyla and Nicolas are my favorites from this series. And I didn’t think anyone could replace deputy Ryan Frost as my favorite of Natalie’s heroes. But I was Nicolas Garcia is now my favorite hero especially after reading Blind Trust and getting to know him better. Nicolas Garcia just scream hero while whispering I have a soft side I keep hidden.

And just like with Natalie’s previous books a secondary was a favorite as well. In a Blind Trust it was Nicolas’s neighbor Korean War Army vet Mr. Brandt. Who reminded me of Korean War vets I had the privilege to know including my grandpa.

I loved the pop culture and science jokes sprinkled through the book. And how much a family the SNAP team is. This is a great ending to an awesome series. And if you haven’t read it you need to. Makes sure you start with the novella Initium to get the whole story as well as background.

I can’t wait to see what Natalie does next even though I hate to see these characters go.
