Murder in the Storybook Cottage is the sixth book in the A Book Retreat mystery series by Ellery Adams. And it was my favorite in the series so far.

Outside of the murder mystery this one focused on children lit and the love of reading. As well as giving the love of reading to children. As well as a sweet bookish proposal. Which I have to say was one of my favorite proposals in literature.

I look forward to the next book in this series. As well as looking for other books and series by her. This is one series that you need to read in order because even though each book has a different mystery the characters and an underlying storyline builds from book to book.

This book and series is the perfect cozy series for bookworms.

To Kill a Mocking Girl by Harper Kincaid is the first book in the Bookbinding mystery series. It was a pretty quick read. I enjoyed the setting and characters.

Victoria Caine has recently moved back to her home town and finds herself the prime suspect in a murder investigation and she gets involved in the murder investigation in order to clear her name. But unfortunately it makes her a target for the real killer.

Even though I didn’t love this first book in this series I am looking forward to the next one.

What Momma Left Behind review

What Momma Left Behind by Cindy K. Sproles | GoodreadsTitle:  What Momma Left Behind

Author:   Cindy K Sproles

Chapters: 36 Plus Epilogue

Pages: 256

Genre: Christian Historical Fiction

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

What Momma Left Behind is the first by Cindy K Sproles that I’ve read. I did enjoy the book. But this book isn’t an easy read as it deals with some tough issues. But the author handled it with grace.

With this novel trust and forgiveness play a huge part to the story and the characters. To me all the characters in the book were realistic and believable. Worie the heroine was my favorite and she was the one I related to the most because I could understand what she was going through. But the characters that remain with me are Ely and Bess for their wisdom and love of the Lord. Not to mention that they reminded me a of a woman I used to work with and her husband.

All and all this was an enjoyable but tough read but so worth it. I look forward to reading other books by this author.

Marshmallow Malice review

Marshmallow Malice (Amish Candy Shop Mystery #5) by Amanda Flower | GoodreadsTitle:   Marshmallow Malice

Author:   Amanda Flower

Series:  An Amish Flower Shop Mystery

Chapters: 38 plus epilogue

Pages:  336

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Kensington Publishing company

Marshmallow Malice is the fifth book in the An Amish Candy shop mystery this one to me this was the most emotional book of the series. Bailey doesn’t know where she stands in her relationship as well as the stress of planning a friend’s wedding when she gets involved in yet another murder.

I spent the majority of the book mad at one of the main characters. But it was still a good book and I do look forward to the next book in the series.

Dream Plan Go: A Travel Guide to Inspire Your Independent review

By Rachel McMillan PRINT ISBN: 9780736979696 E-TEXT ISBN: 9780736979702 Edition: 0Title:   Dream Plan Go: A Travel Guide to Inspire Your Independent Adventure

Author:   Rachel McMillan

Chapters: 11

Pages:  224

Genre:  Travel

Rating:  5 Stars

Publisher: Harvest House Publisher

This travel book from Rachel McMillan is awesome. It’s a book that as a single woman in my 30s didn’t know that I needed. Her book is geared towards single female travel and includes even traveling in your own backyard.
But what stood out to me the most was the whole don’t wait for Prince Charming to take that dream trip. If you really want to go it’s alright to go by yourself or with friends.
This book has me wanting to plan my first solo trip as soon as it’s safe to travel again. I mean I’ve taken “road trips” by myself but those were just either driving to pick my sister up from school or driving back home after dropping her off.
I recommend this book to anyone who’s dreamed of traveling solo but didn’t know where to start. All I can say is let Rachel be tour guide.

Cover reveal for Dreams of Savannah

Roseanna M White has a new book coming out soon. An even though it's not a genre I generally read I'm willing to give it a try.  Because I have enjoyed and loved her other books.
Below is the book blurb and below that is the cover reveal.

Book Blurb:

Cordelia Owens can weave a dream around anything and is well used to winning the hearts of everyone in Savannah with her whimsy. Even when she receives word that her sweetheart has been lost during a raid on a Yankee vessel, she clings to hope and comes up with many a romantic tale of his eventual homecoming to reassure his mother and sister.

But Phineas Dunn finds nothing redemptive in the first horrors of war. Struggling for months to make it home alive, he returns to Savannah injured and cynical, and all too sure that he is not the hero Cordelia seems determined to make him.

As the War Between the States rages ever nearer and Savannah's slaves start sneaking away to the islands off the coast to join the Yankees, both Phin and Cordelia get caught up in questions they never thought they'd have to ask--questions that threaten the very dreams of a future they'd cherished.

Take a Chance on Me review

Take a Chance on Me (Misty River Romance) by Becky Wade - BookBub
Title:  Take a Chance on Me

Author:  Becky Wade

Series: Misty River 0.5 Novella

Chapters: 9

Pages: 98

Genre: Christian Contemporary

Rating: 4 Stars

Publisher: Bethany House

Take a Chance on Me is a prequel novella to the Misty River series. Penelope Quinn has one rule when it comes to dating no Airman a rule she created after a few friends had bad experiences dating Airman. It was Penelope stereotyped a whole group because of the actions of a few.

Air Force fighter pilot Eli Price is determined to get her to change her mind and give him a second chance.

I’m not going to lie it took me a while to warm up to Penelope and I think it was he view of Airman. I’m not saying that she and her didn’t have bad experiences but She lumped them all Together because of the actions of a few.

I guess personal experience as a military kid it’s been the opposite I’m not saying that there’s not and a few bad apples but the good ones still outweigh the bad.

I still enjoyed this sweet novella and can’t wait to read more about Sam in the first book in the series.
