Fatal Code by Natalie Walters review

Title:  Fatal Code

Author:  Natalie Walters

Ch: 36

Pg:  309

Series: The SNAP Agency book 2

Genre:  Christian Romantic Suspense

Rating: 5 Stars

Publisher: Revell

Natalie Walters has given readers another great read with plenty of suspense, romance, faith, pop culture references. As well as plenty of nerdy science jokes and t-shirts.

Elinor Mitchell is aerospace engineer love a woman in STEM. Who may be in over her head and doesn’t even know it? Kekoa Young is a former navy cryptologist a modern-day code breaker and member of the SNAP team whose teammate Lyla thinks he looks like Jason Momoa. He might be considered a hunky Hawaiian, but he has a heart of gold. Can he let go of the past? And can Elinor learn to let people in.

I think Kekoa may be my favorite hero of Natalie’s. I know Elinor is my favorite heroine because I find myself relating to her the most. Even though I’m not a space engineer I am a high nerd who wears nerdy bookish t-shirts and quotes random bookish facts and random facts in general when nervous. And like Elinor I was close to my grandpa.

I didn’t know that a book could make one homesick for a person, especially a person no longer with me. But reading Elinor story and relationship with her grandpa made me miss mine. So, it’s safe to say this book made me cry. But it also made me laugh as well.

Shadow Loyalty by Roseanna M White Review

 Title:  Shadowed Loyalty

Author:  Roseanna M White

Ch: 23

Pg:  356

Genre:  Historical fiction

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Chrism Press

Shadow Loyalty the newest book by Roseanna M White, however it’s different than her previous books. But it’s just as good. Shadow Loyalty has Whites trademark faith filled stories as well as the character growth and love.

Shadow Loyalty takes place in 1920s and Sabina Mancari is a mob bosses’ daughter. Lorenzo has loved her since then were kids as a lawyer he wants to give her a life away from the mob but will a prohibition agent who seems to be slight shady to this reader sway her away.

Shadow Loyalty was a great read that gives the reader action, a slight love triangle that doesn’t feel like one, and a love story. That still manages to be sweet and full of faith.

Fans of Rachel Scott McDaniel’s The Mobster’s Daughter and The Red Canary will also enjoy this one.

About Shadow Loyalty

Sabina Mancari never questioned her life as the daughter of Chicago’s leading mob boss until bullets tear apart her world and the man she thought she loved turns out to be an undercover Prohibition agent. Ambushes, bribes, murder, prostitution—all her life, her father sheltered her from his crimes, but now she can no longer turn away from the truth. Maybe Lorenzo, the fiancĂ© who barely paid her any attention in the last two years, has the right idea by planning to escape their world. But can she truly turn her back on her family?

All his life, Lorenzo’s family assumed he would become a priest, but he has different ideas—marrying Sabina and pursuing a career in the law. Despite his morals, he knows at the core he isn’t so unlike his mafiosi father and brothers. Has he, in trying to protect Sabina, forced her into the arms of the Prohibition agent bent on tearing her family apart? How can they rebuild what has so long been neglected and do it in the shadow of the dark empire of the Mafia?

Shadowed Loyalty, set amid the glitz and scandal of the Roaring Twenties, examines what love really means and how we draw lines between family and our own convictions, especially when following one could mean losing the other.

Roseanna M. White is a bestselling, Christy Award winning author who has long claimed that words are the air she breathes. When not writing fiction, she’s homeschooling her two kids, editing, designing book covers, and pretending her house will clean itself. Roseanna is the author of a slew of historical novels that span several continents and thousands of years. Spies and war and mayhem always seem to find their way into her books…to offset her real life, which is blessedly ordinary. You can learn more about her and her stories at www.RoseannaMWhite.com.
