Review of Code Talker

Title: Code Talker
Author: Joseph Bruchac
Series: no
Chapters: 29 and some extra stuff
Pages: 231
Genre: teen fiction, Historical Fiction
Rating:  5 stars 10/10
It a fictional account of the Navajo code talkers; Marine’s who during WWII were able to use their language as code to keep the Japanese from breaking the code. For many years the Navajo Marine’s weren’t allowed to talk about what they did.
The story is told from the point of view of a young Navajo Marine and Code talker Ned Begay. He lied about his age in order to enlist. The book is an awesome read even though it is written for teens I think that everyone should read this book.

Review of Little Blog on the prairie

Title: Little Blog on the Prairie
Author: Cathleen Davitt Bell
Series: no
Chapters: 28 plus epilogue
Pages: 276
Genre:  teen
Rating:  5 stars

It’s a cute book about a 13 year-old-girl and her family who end up going on a family vacation that involves them going “back in time.” They don’t really go back in time. However they find themselves on working on a farm that still farms the way that they did before modern equipment.
With a smuggled in cell phone Genevieve is able to pass on information that her friends in the “Modern world” are able to blog about. It’s a cute read for anybody even if your aren’t a teen.

Review of Playing with Purpose

Title: Playing with Purpose
Author: Mike Yorkey
Series: no
Chapters: five with some extras
Pages: 292
Genre: Non fiction
Rating:  5 stars. Great Book

I didn’t think that I would like the book, because it was about football. I don’t really like football all that much. The book was about three of 2010’s NFL draft picks. What set’s these three quarterback’s apart from the rest is their faith, their belief in Jesus Christ and God. The book focuses on Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, and Tim Tebow, who played college football for Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida. Each player would be drafted by teams that needed a turnaround; St Louis, Cleveland and Denver.
Even if you don’t like football I recommend this book, it’s an awesome read. The NFL now has players that kids can look up to, without worrying what they are doing off the field.

Reveiw of To Win Her Heaert

Title: To Win her heart
Author: Karen Witemeyer
Series: none
Chapters: forty three and an Epilogue
Pages: 347
Genre: Christian Historical Fiction and romance
Rating:  5 stars

Eden Spencer has pretty much giving up on ever marrying. She instead has put her time an effort into running the town library. However that changes when Blacksmith Levi Grant comes to town. Levi has pretty much given up on ever having a family
Some how Eden and Levi forge a friendship over their love of books, and the discussions that she and Levi have over them. Eden almost loses her standing in the community because Levi conveniences her to take in a Chloe a young girl with a past. Eden and Levi face the biggest challenge when Levi’s past comes back. Will the town still accept Levi? Will he and Eden have a chance at forever?
I really enjoyed this third book by Karen Witemeyer, I liked it better than Tailor Made Bride, but it’s a toss up between Head in the Clouds and To Win Her Heart as to which I liked better.
