Review of Bleeding Hearts

Amber Stokes upcoming knovel Bleeding Hearts can't wait for itTitle: Bleeding Hearts

Author: Amber Stokes

Chapters: 27 plus epilogue

Genre: Christian Historical Romance/ fiction

Rating: 5 stars.

Bleeding Hearts by Amber Stokes is her debut novel. I have to start out by saying that it is different than any other Christian Historical that I have read in a while. However that is a good thing. It leaves you thinking and touches many different emotions. The only other novel that have read recently that comes close  to making me feel that way was Laura Frantz’  Love's Reckoning. Bleedings Hearts is the perfect title for this novel, because it fits all the characters in the novel.

This is because all of the characters in the novel are searching for something. However most of them do not realize that it Jesus that they need. Bleeding Hearts reminds us that our own hearts are bleeding in some form or another. Either for God or own hearts are bleeding for what breaks God’s.

I enjoyed the novel I didn’t want it to end. Most of the characters were easy to fell in love with, but I have to say that Myghal was my favorite. I hope that he gets his own story someday. With Sally I felt for her, cried with her, laughed with her and rejoiced with her. Bleeding Hearts is a great debut novel that I felt blessed to be able to read and review for the author.

I was given an advanced e reader copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Amber is also doing a giveaway as well.

Review of His Mountain Miss

His Mountain Miss (Love Inspired Historical)Title: His Mountain Miss

Author: Karen Kirst

Series: Smoky Mountain matches Love inspired

Pages: 288

Genre:  Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

His Mountain Miss by Karen Kirst is the third book in the Smoky Mountain matches  series.  It is Megan O'Malley’s story. She wants to continue using the house that Lucian Beaumont inherited from his grandfather to continue to allow the children of Gatlinburg to have access to books. Lucian wants to sell the property and head back to New Orleans. To continue to keep the past behind him.
His Mountain Miss is my favorite of the Smokey Mountain Matches so far. I think it is because Megan is a book worm. Megan has always wanted to marry for love. Her family thinks it is because she reads so many novels and fairy tales. Lucian wants to treat marriage like a business arrangement so no one gets hurt. This is because of his parent’s unhappy marriage.  However God has other plans for both Megan and Lucian.

The thing that I love about Love Inspired novels all three branches is that even though it’s a romance the novels also include faith and learning to trust God.

Review of the Preacher's Bride

The Preacher's BrideTitle: The Preacher’s Bride

Author: Laurie Kingery

Series: Brides of Simpson Creek book 5 Love Inspired Historical

Pages: 288

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 4.5 stars

The Preacher’s Bride is the fifth book in the Brides of Simpson Creek and it is the first book that I have read in this series and I enjoyed it.  Gil Chadwick is following in his father’s footsteps to became a preacher. But sometimes he doesn’t feel like he is good enough.  Faith Bennett doesn’t believe that she dersves her name let alone to be a preacher’s wife because she has lost her faith or so she thinks.

What I enjoyed about this novel was that it showed that God can use anyone no matter what they past as long as they accept Jesus as their savior.

Reviews of Spies and Prejudice

New arrival: Spies and Prejudice by Talia VanceTitle: Spies and Prejudice

Author: Talia Vance

Chapters: 47

Pages: 296

Genre: Teen chick lit with a hint of mystery

Rating: 4.5 stars

At first I didn’t want to read Spies and Prejudice because I don’t really like to read books that give a nod to Pride and Prejudice.  I am glad I did because Spies and Prejudice was good and funny. It was easy to see which of the characters were based on characters from Pride and Prejudice.  Strawberry Fields or Berry the main character and Heroine is Elizabeth Bennett. Her friend Mary Chris is Jane or at least in my opinion. Tanner Halston is Mr. Darcy while his step brother Ryan is Mr. Bingley.

I really enjoyed the book. I just wish that it had ended better for Berry.

I was given an ecopy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review of Sisterchicks do the hula

Amazon.com: Sisterchicks Do the Hula (Sisterchicks Series #2) (9781590522264): Robin Jones Gunn: BooksTitle: Sisterchicks do the hula

Author: Robin Jones Gunn

Series: Sisterchicks book 2

Chapters: 25 Plus Epilogue

Genre: Christian Chick lit

Rating: 4.5 stars

Laurie and Hope have been friends for years and they are now getting the chance to go to Hawaii together on a sisterchicks vacation.  This book is the second book in the sisterchicks series. It was good but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the first one.

Review of Sisterchicks on the Loose

Sisterchicks on the Loose! (Sisterchicks Series #1): Robin Jones Gunn: 9781590521984: Amazon.com: BooksTitle: Sisterchicks on the Loose

Author: Robin Jones Gunn

Series: Sisterchicks

Pages: 288

Genre: Christian Chick lit

Rating: 4.5 stars

Sisterchicks on the loose is the first book in the Sisterchick series by Robin Jones Gunn. It is Christian chick lit but it seems to be written for older women, because the main characters are older.
Sharon and Penny have been friends for years and now in the 40’s they are going to Finland in order for Penny to find family members.
Just like I enjoyed reading the Christy Miller series also by Robin Jones Gunn I enjoyed reading this Sisterchick novel. Robin’s novels are full of the right balance of faith, relationships and humor. I am glad that an author that I read as a teen I can continue to read as an adult.
