This one gave me Life as we know it
vibes but better. Because both Jackson and Bailey are actually friends. There’s
something about Jess Mastorakos’s writing and the way she tips rom com troupes
on their heads. As I normally don’t like friends to more. But with the way
Bailey and Jackson are written it works. That bond between Navy Corpman runs deep.
Somebody to Lean On does use miscommunication as one of
the troupes normally not my fave but the way Jess writes it and the reason for
it works for this story.
While I loved seeing Bailey and
Jackson’s story playing out. But I also loved being back in Charlotte Oaks and
seeing old friends. But Gertie the goat and Phoebe stole the show.
