The Traitor's Pawn by Lisa Harris review

clean Archives - Page 4 of 308 - More Than a ReviewTitle:  The Traitor's Pawn

Author: Lisa Harris

Chapters: 33

Pages:336
Genre: Christian Suspense

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

The Traitor's Pawn is the first book that I've read by Lisa Harris and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. FBI Jack Shannon is in Corpus Christi Texas following a lead on his case only to find that Aubrey Grayson his childhood best friend and the woman he once loved has ties to the case.  He's determined to keep her safe while solving his case.

This is a stand-alone suspense at least right now. I enjoyed the story it was a fast-paced suspense novel that only had a hint of romance which is how I like my suspense novels.  The Traitor's Pawn is a suspense novel that has something for everyone, suspense fans who don't' like a lot of romance in their will like this one, and even romantic suspense fans will like this one because there is still hint of romance.

I read this one in two days I couldn't put the book down. I do know that I will be looking for any new books by Lisa Harris in the future and for now I plan to work my through her back list.

Daugther of Cana by Angela Elwell Hunt

Daughter of Cana (Jerusalem Road #1)Title:  Daughter of Cana

Author: Angela Elwell Hunt

Series: Jeruslam Road  book 1

Chapters: 45 plus epilogue

Pages: 384

Genre: Bibical fiction

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Bethany House Publisher

Daughter of Cana by Angela Elwell Hunt is the first book in Jerusalem Road series, this is the second Biblical fiction book that I've this year and it's my first book by Angela Elwell Hunt that I've read.  This book covers aspects of the Gospels starting with the wedding in which Jesus turned water into wine. Tasmin is a fictional character who is Thomas's twin sister. I did enjoy this one and even though I didn't love this one as much as previous Biblical fiction  I've read it was still a good read, and I am willing to read more of Angela's books in the future.

Murder Makes Scents review

Murder Makes Scents (Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery #2)Title:  Murder Makes Scents

Author: Christin Brecher

Series: Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery book 2

Chapters: 29

Pages: 272

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 3 Stars

Publisher:  Kensington

Murder Makes Scents by Christin Brecher is the second book in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery.  As the second book in the series, it's hard to talk to about the characters without giving things away from the first book.

But I can say that this a crafty cozy mystery featuring candles and the small coastal town of Nantucket Mass.  It was a fast read, and even though I didn't enjoy it as well as the first book in the series it was still a good read. Perfect for fans of crafty cozy. Just make sure you read the first book in the series first.

Egg Drop Dead review

 Title:  Egg Drop Dead

Author: Vivien Chien

Series: A Noodle Shop Mystery book 5

Chapters: 34

Pages: 320

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 3.5 Stars

Publisher: St. Martin's

Egg Drop Dead by Vivien Chien is the 5th book in the A Noodle Shop Mystery series. I love reading what new mystery Lana Lee finds herself involved in.  Though this one wasn't my favorite of the series I did enjoy reading this one. I enjoy the puny titles in which part of the titles are Chinese dishes as Lana runs her family's Chinese restaurant.  If you like cozy mysteries set around food and restaurants then this is the cozy mystery series for you.

Death on the Page review

Title:  Death on the Page

Author: Essie Lang
Series: Castle Bookshop Mystery Book 2

Chapters: 38

Pages: 330

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Crooked Lane Books

Death on the page by  Essie Lang is the second book in the Castle Bookshop Mystery and bookstore owner Shelby Cox finds herself in the middle of another murder mystery.  But with this one she wasn't even trying to get involved.

I enjoyed this one more than the first book in the series, and I look forward to more in the series.  This book just like with most cozy mysteries was a fairly quick read. It's a good book to read if you're looking for a temporary escape.
