The Most wonderful Crime of the year by Ally Carter

I've been a fan of Ally Carter's sense her Gallagher Girl Serie days. That I discovered shortly after I high school  And when I saw that she had written a Christmas rom com mystery combo that was describe as Knives out with Christmas I knew I had to check it out. Especially since she write the screenplay for my favorite Christmas movie A Castle for Christmas, and I also loved her novel for adults The Blonde Identify.  And I loved this, and quite frankly it would make an awesome movie, a Christmas movie that I would willingly watch. Maggie Chase and Ethan Wyatt are both writers who write for the same publishing house. They are work place rivals.  They jump at the chance to visit a favorite writer's English estate over Christmas when they find themselves in locked room mystery straight out of Christie.

This one was the perfect blend of mystery and rom com. I loved the banter between Maggie and Wyatt, and I loved finding out that there was to Ethan than meets the eye. Character's that are more than meets the eye are what Ally started with the Gallagher Girl Series and while her target audience has changed her knack for writing a great story with action, banter and heroes and heroines that butt heads has not.

What’s a Gallagher girl fan to do know that she’s grown up. Read Ally Carter’s newest book The Blonde Identity about spies and while it’s not a Gallagher grown up. It does contain Ally’s charm and banter.

I do have to stress that while it is still very much Ally’s writing style it’s not a teen book it’s adult with language but not that much and it does fit the character that uses it. There is a steamy scene that is off the page, but it’s rather fade to black than close door.

The Blonde Identity kept me trying to reasons to kept listening to the audiobook to find out what happened. Because the action and the banter between Zoe and Sawyer kept me wanting too more. And what’s not to love about a spy chase across Europe.

Noah a boy that has a dual citizenship of  Israel and Brazil, and Rosie a small German girl who becomes Grace’s shadow. Then there’s Alexei her brother’s best friend who lives next door in the Russian Embassy. This group of misfits end up causing more trouble than the solve.  

When I heard that Ally Carter had wrote a new book the start of a new series I was excited. I was especially excited when I found out that Grace was an army brat. I love reading books about army brats. It’s a character that is easy for me to understand.
