Active Defense is the third book in the Danger never sleeps by Lynette Eason. This one follows Heather Fountine a former army doctor and Travis Walker a security expert. Heathers got baggage in her past that Travis wants to help carry if she’ll let him.

This one was my favorite in series. Heather was the heroine that was the most stubborn a perfect match for Travis. That while Travis is a hero who wants to protect the heroine he does so while treating her life an equal. You don’t get that often enough in romantic suspense. Which brings up my other point that I love about Eason’s writing her novels are the majority suspense with only a hint of romance which is how I love my suspense novels. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Acceptable Risk by Lynette Eason is the second book in the Danger Never Sleeps series. And though it’s the second book in the series it’s a standalone story. Though If you read it out of order you will be slightly spoiled for how the first book ends.

When Sarah Denning loses her army career and ends up with a target on her back it’s up to Former Army Ranger Gavin Black to protect her and find the people who want her dead. I enjoyed this one the suspense kept me turning the pages but it wasn’t my favorite of the series. I have to admit it because Sarah got on my nerves at first and it took me at least half of the book to warm up to her. But the secondary characters the hero and the plot kept the book moving.

I will continue the series as soon as the next book releases. If you enjoy suspense I recommend this one and the first book in the series.

Lynette Eason has been my go-to for suspense and law enforcement novels. Now it looks like she’s going to be my go-to for military fiction in the Christian fiction market along Ronie Kendig. I didn’t know how I was going to feel about Collateral Damage because outside of Revolutionary war fiction I don’t tend to read military fiction as I’m scared that the authors not going to do their research or in my opinion not do justice to characters. But since I’ve loved Lynette Eason’s law enforcement suspense I was willing to give this new series a try and she really did her research.

The hero and heroine shows that there are no unwounded in war. That they all have scars just that some aren’t physical and they war can affect people differently.

I plan to continue the series and I look forward to the second book releasing this year.
