Wed, Read & Dead review

Wed, Read & Dead (Mystery Bookshop, #4) by V.M. Burns | GoodreadsTitle:  Wed, Read & Dead

Author:  V.M. Burns

Series: Mystery Bookshop #4

Chapters: 16

Pages: 263

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 4 Stars

Wed, Read, & Dead is the fourth book in the Mystery Bookshop series by V.M Burns.  Samantha Washington's bookshop is doing great and she's still writing.  But now she not only has to plan a wedding but solve a murder and find the real killer otherwise the groom's going to have to say I DO behind bars.   I love all the characters in this series especially the sassy grandma who packs a pistol. She reminds me so much of my own grandmother who's gone now.  I love the two dogs in the story they tend to remind of my friends dogs.
This cozy mystery set around a bookstore owner, writer and amateur detective is something that nerdy little me used to dream about as a child.  The book is only 16 chapters long you can pretty much finish it in one day if you've got a couple of hours to read. It's a fast read for a cozy.  I would recommend this one for anyone who loves cozy mysteries, books, and bookstores. And as always I look forward to the next book in the series.

Review of the Novel Art of Murder

The Novel Art of Murder (Mystery Bookshop, #3)
Title: The Novel Art of Murder
Author:   V.M. Burns
Pg: 256
Series: Mystery Bookshop book 3
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Rating:  3.5 Stars
The Novel Art of Murder is the 3 book in the Mystery Bookshop series by V.M. Burns. Samantha Washington’s book shop is doing good. She’s still writing her books and waiting to hear back from an agent. When a new murder mystery lands in her lap. In which her grandmother is the prime suspect. She must work quickly to find the real killer and clear her grandmother’s name.
Like with the first two in the series this is a quick read, that despite the fact that it is a murder mystery there is quite a few bits of humor found in the story. Especially from Samantha’s grandmother.  I look forward to the next book in this series.

Review of Read Herring Hunt

Read Herring Hunt (Mystery Bookshop, #2)Title: Read Herring Hunt

Author: V.M. Burns

Pages: 288

Series: Mystery Bookshop book 2

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 3.5 stars

Read Herring Hunt is the second book in the Mystery bookshop series by V.M. Burns and Samantha Washington and her two poodles are back for another mystery.  But this time the mystery hits close to home when her employee and tenant Alexander Dawson who's become like a son to her is accused.

Sam and the senior citizen book club including her grandmother are determined to help her clear Alex's name.  As this is book two in a series I don't want to risk giving away any of the plot to the first book, The Plot is murder. Sam only got involved in solving one murder to clear her name. But this time her lawyer sister is urging her to help clear her client. But with a bunch of senior citizens and college students along for the ride it's not going to be easy.

Read Herring Hunt is the perfect book for anyone who loves cozy mysteries, bookshop and dogs.
