I have to say the Hope Harbor series is one of my favorite series. And if even if I’m not a fan of the main romance the secondary characters keep me turning the pages. I loved the secondary characters romance in this one more than the main. As it took me a while to warm up to the heroine mainly because of her relationship with her mom. But by the end I did understand her. Though I have to say that Charlie still remains my favorite character in the series. Sandcastle Inn is a sweet contemporary Christian read.

I have to say Windswept away by Irene Hannon is my favorite book in the Hope Harbor series. Jon and Ashley were definitely my favorite couple. I got a bit a Beauty and the beast vibes from the story. And of course, something in the story confirmed it for me. Ashley wants a fresh start while restoring a historic home to its former glory. While Jon is a wounded warrior that wants to make a success of his landscaping business. Neither are looking for romance or a relationship, but God has other plans.

I also enjoyed meeting Rose. She was the sweetest and I feel like she became a grandma figure to Ashley. And there’s nothing like Charle’s wisdom. As well as the friendship between Reverend Baker and Father Murphy that somehow works. And just like previous Hope Harbor novels it’s like visiting with old friends.

This was a sweet romance that not only romantic love but the love between friends and the love God has for his children. As well as showing how God can bring good from evil.

Sea Glass Cottage by Irene Hannon review

Once again readers are back in Hope Harbor with Sea Glass Cottage by Irene Hannon. Not only is the town charming but the residents are as well, especially Charlie the taco guy. Who always seems to know the right advice to give at the right moment?   I loved visiting with some of my favorites in this one, but I also loved meeting Jack Colby and Christi Reece, these two share a past. Jack's not ready to forgive her, and Christi's' determined to prove she's changed. But when another surprise shows up from Jack's past that leads them to work together might just be the thing that brings them back together. 

 

I love Irene's contemporary's more than I do her suspense because not only does she create life like characters she creates towns that you just want to visit. What I love the most about Irene's books are the faith content throughout the story as well as the happy ending at the end. You just don't know how you’re going to get there even with her Contemporaries.  She doesn't shy away from the hard stuff. And I for one was happy to hear that we are getting at least three more Hope Harbor books. Yay.  I hope you enjoy Christi's and Jack's story as much as I did.

Pelican Point by Irene Hannon review

Pelican Point is the fourth book in the Hope Harbor series by Irene Hannon. And with each book in the series I grew to love the small coastal Oregon town even more. Ben Garrison has inherited a lighthouse he doesn't want and can't afford. While Marci Weber is determined to save it. So of course these two are going to butt heads.   And the secondary couple Rachel and Greg also kept me turning pages.  

 

Both the heroes in this book are military veterans  though Ben chose to leave the military Greg's injury makes the choice for him.   I loved reading and seeing how both couples grew and changed through the course of the novel.   

 

Lighthouses through history have served as guiding light for ships. Historical lighthouses required a keeper in order to keep the light burning especially during dark and stormy nights.  Now electric lights and computers keep the lights going. But it hasn't stopped the lighthouse from becoming a symbol of light pun intended. 

Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon Review

Talk about opposites attract.  Lexi Graham is Hope Harbor's police chief and Adam Stone is an ex-con who works for BJ as a builder and carpenter as a hobby. I didn't think Adam would be a hero that I would root for based on his past.  Though I did root for him as a secondary character in Sea Rose Lane, so I guess it shouldn't have come as a shock to me. I love how Lexi's and Adam's relationship grew and developed, as well as the lessons they had to learn together and apart. 

 Though my favorite character in this one was Lexi's five year old son Matt, who had me hooked as soon as I heard him call his grandma mamaw again I   listened to the audio because that's what still call my grandma.  He was the sweetest kid.  All in all this one was my favorite of the series so far.

Sea Rose Lane is the second book in the Hope Harbor series and just like with the first book in the series it was the secondary characters Eleanor and Luis that kept me listening. I just had to know what happened to them. But I am growing to love this series. And as I long as I can find the audio books for each book in the series I'm going to keep listening to the audio. The Narrator is awesome.

Hope Harbor is the first book in the Hope Harbor series and the second book I've read in the series. I kind of read the 7th one Blackberry Beach first. Though I read it out of order I only ended up with slight spoilers for the first and third book in the series. However it didn't spoil to story itself just that I knew couples would end up together. But technically with romance that's not really too big of spoiler. While I enjoyed Michael and Tracy's story and romance. It was the secondary character Ann Williams and her story that kept me listening. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it.

Though Blackberry Beach by Irene Hannon is the 7th book in the Hope Harbor series it can be read as a standalone.  Though I haven't read any of Irene's contemporaries  but I've loved every one of the suspense novels she's written.  And Blackberry Beach was no exception.  To me it was the perfect spring read, especially after all the heavy WWII fiction  I had been reading.  

 

I loved both the heroine Katherine Parker and the hero Zach Garrett both of whom are hiding a past as well as hurts.  Both end up in Hope Harbor for different reasons, but it might just be what both of them need.  The secondary characters didn't take away from the story they only added to it and gave it more depth. 

 

As a reader I loved the fictional small coastal  town in Oregon, and who wouldn't love a beach with blackberry bushes.  This sweet read was filled with the prefect balance, of faith, friendship and romance and I look forward to reading other books in the series.
