Review of Married by Christmas

Married by Christmas by Karen Kirst.Title: Married by Christmas

Author: Karen Kirst

Series: Smoky Mountain Matches book 5

Chapters: 27 plus Epilogue

Pages: 285

Genre: Christian Historical Romance Love Inspired Historical

Rating: 5 stars

Married by Christmas is the fifth book in the Smoky Mountain matches. This time its Caleb O’Malley’s turn for a chance at happy ever after. The only problem is he doesn’t think that he deserves to be  happy not after what he did to his best friend. Causing him to call off  his engagement to Rebecca Thurston.
When a Snow storm causes an injured Caleb to be nursed by Rebecca Thurston the town of Gatlinburg insist that they marry to protect Rebecca’s reputation.

I enjoyed all of the Smoky Mountain matches books but I was looking forward to Caleb’s story. Since the firsts books Caleb’s been seen as the black sheep of the family. Married by Christmas gives light to Caleb’s story and you finally start to understand him. I cannot wait until the next book in the Smoky Mountain Matches series.

I was given an e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review of The Husband Hunt

THE HUSBAND HUNT by Karen KirstTitle: The Husband Hunt

Author: Karen Kirst

Series: Smoky Mountain Matches Love inspired Historical

Chapters: 26 plus Epilogue

Pages: 283

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

The Husband Hunt is another book in the Smoky Mountain Matches  series . Sophie Tanner has to get married in order to keep her brother with her and her farm. The only person she could ever see herself marrying  Nathan O’Malley doesn’t want to marry her. Nathan thinks that they are two different.
Sophie isn’t your typical girl she’s a tomboy who is more at home working on the farm than in fancy dress.  She also has a heart of gold that will do anything for her brother even if it means marrying someone she doesn’t love.

So far I have enjoyed all the books in the Smoky Mountain Matches series, The Reluctant Outlaw was my favorite with this one being a close second. Like any Love Inspired Historical Romance, The Husband Hunt is a sweet romantic read.

Review of Stealing the Preacher

Stealing the Preacher: Karen Witemeyer: 9780764209666: Amazon.com: BooksTitle: Stealing the Preacher

Author: Karen Witemeyer

Series: sort of the sequel to Short straw Bride

Chapters: 44 plus epilogue

Pages: 347

Genre: Christian Historical fiction Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Stealing the Preacher is sort of the sequel to Short Straw Bride. Crockett Archer is the younger brother of Travis Archer.  Crockett isn’t your typical preacher. Joanna Robbins isn’t a typical rancher’s daughter she is the daughter of a former outlaw.
Crockett thought he was going to be a preacher at another church however it seems God had other plans and he used an outlaw who was trying to give his daughter her birthday wish.

Stealing the Preacher is a good reminder to us that just because you don’t think you can’t do something or don’t think your good enough God has other plans, and He can use anybody He calls.  Will Both Crockett and Joanna find that out?

I was given a review copy through netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review of His Mountain Miss

His Mountain Miss (Love Inspired Historical)Title: His Mountain Miss

Author: Karen Kirst

Series: Smoky Mountain matches Love inspired

Pages: 288

Genre:  Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

His Mountain Miss by Karen Kirst is the third book in the Smoky Mountain matches  series.  It is Megan O'Malley’s story. She wants to continue using the house that Lucian Beaumont inherited from his grandfather to continue to allow the children of Gatlinburg to have access to books. Lucian wants to sell the property and head back to New Orleans. To continue to keep the past behind him.
His Mountain Miss is my favorite of the Smokey Mountain Matches so far. I think it is because Megan is a book worm. Megan has always wanted to marry for love. Her family thinks it is because she reads so many novels and fairy tales. Lucian wants to treat marriage like a business arrangement so no one gets hurt. This is because of his parent’s unhappy marriage.  However God has other plans for both Megan and Lucian.

The thing that I love about Love Inspired novels all three branches is that even though it’s a romance the novels also include faith and learning to trust God.

Review of the Gift of Family

Title: The Gift of Family

Author: Linda Ford and Karen Kirst

Series: Love Inspired Historical

Pages: 282

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Title: Merry Christmas, Cowboy
Author: Linda Ford
Chapters: 9 plus epilogue
Colt Johnson is a half Native American cowboy who has two orphans in his care. Becca is a storekeeper’s daughter who sees past Colt and the children’s skin color to see who they are on the inside.
Becca wants to give them a Christmas to remember. But ends up giving them so much more.  I enjoyed reading a Christmas story that allowed the reader to see past the differences of skin tone and race to see the person within.

Title: Smoky Mountain Christmas
Author: Karen Kirst
Chapters: 11 plus epilogue
Smoky Mountain Christmas is a Christmas story set in one of my favorite places the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. When Cole Prescott left his wife Rachael he didn’t know that he was also leaving behind a daughter Abby.
Is Cole’s coming back a Christmas Miracle or will he let Rachael down again. Smoky Mountain Christmas is a Christmas story about second chances.
