Reading and Book Goals for 2013

  • Put a dent in my To Be Read pile
  • With my school load this semester I am only sitting my goodreads reading goal at 70
  • Limit book buying to one or two hardback books a month. Unless it's a book for school and my public library does not have it
  • Actually keep up and maybe get ahead in the books that I have to read for school
  • Buy no more than 4 love inspired books a month
    • then only to complete series I already have
    • favorite author
    • book I really like
  • wait for the library to get many of the books that I want to read unless it is a favorite author or series that i want to finish
  • this is to help me save money.
  • Try to do more book reviews.
  • read at least 5 classics this year
  • complete all the challenges I signed up for 2013
  • update the reading challenge page on my blog monthly
  • update the list of books read for 2013 monthly

Why I couldn't review This Scarlet Cord

I was not able to get into this book when I chose to review it from Book Sneeze, so I don't think that I can give it an honest review. To me the author got a little away from the Biblical story. When I read Biblical fiction I look for authors who stick as close to the Biblical story  as possible.  To me This Scarlet Cord drifted to much for the Biblical story for what I was comfortable with.  Even though I did not really like the book it was really will written.

Review of A Long way From you

Title: A Long Way from You

Author: Gwendolyn Gage

Series: no though it is a sort of sequel to Where I belong

Genre: Teen

Rating: 4 ½

Kitsy  goes to New York in order to spend the summer at art camp so to speak.  It actually got better, I think I like this one better than the first book. I think that I liked Kitsy  better than Corrine.

Merry CHRISTmas

Merry CHRISTmas to all my blog readers and your families. May your day be blessed, while you celebrate with friends and family please don't forget the Reason for the Season. That Jesus came to earth as a tiny baby to one day save the world. Also take the time to say a pray for Our Military and Our military families, because those families have loved ones away from home and quite possibly in harms way, protecting our freedom.

Review of The Girl In the Glass

Title: The Girl in the Glass

Author: Susan Meissner

Series: no

Chapters: 33

Pages: 334

Genre: Christian Romance, Christian Fiction

Rating: 4 ½

The Girl in the Glass is the first book that I read by Susan Meissner but it will not be the last.  From the first page I was lost in the story. When Meg went to Italy I felt like I was there.
Meg has always wanted to go to Italy since she was a little and when she gets the chance she jumps at it. Like Meg I have also wanted to go to Italy since I was young. So I was able to relate to the book on a personal level.
After reading The Girl in the Glass Susan Meissner is now one of my go to authors.

"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review." All thoughts are my own.

Review of Bagpipes, Brides and Homicides

Pizza, Love, and Other Stuff that Made me famous is a cute main stream teen fiction that is cute. It’s basically teen iron chef. Sophie Niclardies is half Greek and half Italian and loves to cook.
She friend Alex gets her to try out for this cooking show that she ends up on. It was cute read that I feel pretty safe recommending it to most readers.
