Loyally Luke by Pepper Basham review

Title: Loyally Luke

Author: Pepper Basham

Ch: 23

Pg: 384

Series: Skymar book 3

Genre: Christian romance Christian rom com

Rating: 5 stars

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

All I can say with Loyally Luke by Pepper Basham is finally. Not because I wanted the series to end, but because we finally get Luke’s story. And as someone who fell for Luke in the first book, I spent the second book falling deeper. But in Loyally Luke I fell head over heels, what can I say I’m a sucker for a country boy in flannel with a heart of gold. I have to say I love seeing more of Luke in this one.

I have to admit Ellie wasn’t who I pictured Luke falling for he who dislikes the rom com. It was hilarious to see him end up in one. His and Ellie’s meet cute was perfect for him. And there was more than meets the eye to Ellie.

This one gave me a bit of The Princess Diaries vibes and all the movie references. Whoever thought a country boy could charm a princess. But for me it was Luke dropping The Princess Bride quotes into normal conversation. And then accidentally creating what I thought was the perfect country song.

And like all of Peppers books faith is threaded throughout the story and plays out in the characters’ lives. And love that Luke is a man of faith that makes him the perfect hero in my book. That alone would do it but a country boy in flannel makes Luke even more realistic. And a perfect end to the series.

Review of A Soldier's Prayer

A Soldier's Prayer by Jenna MindelTitle:  A Soldier’s Prayer

Author: Jenna Mindel

Series: Maple Springs book 6

Pages:224

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 3 stars

Publisher:  Love Inspired

A Soldier’s  Prayer by Jenna Mindel is another sweet romance from Love Inspired. Both Monica Zelinksy and Cash Miller are going to discover that God’s plans aren’t always the same as our plans.   The only thing I didn’t like was the title,  which doesn’t take away from the story but doesn’t fit the hero as the hero is a Marine, not a Soldier I don’t other readers will be bother by it like I was.
But it was till an enjoyable read.

The Nanny’s Secret Baby by Lee Tobin McClain is the fourth book in the Redemption Ranch series.  This is a sweet Christian romance about second chances and God’s timing. Just like other books from the Love Inspired line your guaranteed a happy ending. But that doesn’t mean that the story is predicable.

Review of The Soldier's Redemption

The Soldier's Redemption (Redemption Ranch)Title: The Soldier’s Redemption

Author: Lee Tobin McClain

Series: Redemption Ranch book 1

Pages: 224

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 3 stars

Finn Gallagher has a hard time of letting go of his past.  He feels that he has to carry the guilt for the rest of his life.  Its part of the reason he moved to Colorado. He wants to focus on the retreat for other veterans to give them a place to heal.  Kayla White and her son are running from her past and she just wants to start over some place safe. She thought Redemption Ranch in Colorado would be the place, but Finn doesn't really want her there.

However it seems that God has other plans.  Finn's friend try to help him see that maybe Kayla and her son have come to Redemption ranch for a reason and maybe just maybe the three of them can become a family.

I've read other books by Lee Tobin McClain and enjoyed them, and The Soldier's Redemption the first book in the Redemption Ranch series is no different.  Just like other books in the Love Inspired line, this is a sweet Christian Romance that is clean.  I would recommend this book to those readers who enjoy reading Christian fiction, Christian Romance and PG Romance novels.

Review of Oath of Honor

Oath of Honor (Blue Justice #1)Title: Oath of Honor

Author: Lynette Eason

Series: Blue Justice Book 1

Chapters: 36 plus epilogue

Pages: 359

Genre: Christian Suspense/ Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

In Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason the first book in the Blue Justice the entire novel literally lasts a total of six days. Though the novel moves at a fast pace you don't lose anything from the story. Isabelle St. John comes from a law enforcement family, with all of her brothers in law enforcement and one sister. With her mom being the chief of police for their town.  Oath of Honor takes places in a fictionalize version of Columbia South Carolina.   The novel gave me a bit of a Blue Bloods feel but with the Christian faith added in.
But then Isabelle's world comes crashing down around her, her partner is murdered and she barely makes it out, she's saved by an unlikely source.  She then discovers a member of her own family  may be responsible.  She then decides to try to solve Kevin's murder on her own, but Detective Ryan Marshall Kevin's older brother and the man she's had a crush on for years will not let her work the case alone.  Isabelle's trying hard to protect her heart from getting broken.  But someone else is also trying very hard to protect Isabelle's heart as well as his. Ryan also wants to protect Isabelle's life no matter the cost.
I've read many books by Lynette's books before but Oath of Honor is my favorite book of hers so far.  I loved Isabelle's faith and determination and how much she loved her family.  Ryan's nature to protect those he loves above all else.  My favorite character though wasn't human instead it was Isabelle's dog Mozart a miniature Eskimo Spitz.  Mainly because I had one as a children and they are lovable and loyal dogs. Another thing that I liked about Oath of Honor is that while there was some romance in the story it wasn't the whole story.       I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Chloe's story.  As well as reading about the rest of Isabelle's siblings in their own stories especially Isabelle's twin.

True to you

True to You (Bradford Sisters Romance #1)Title: True to you

Author: Becky Wade

Series: Bradford Sisters Romance book 1

Pages: 373

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

True to you is the first book in the Bradford Sisters Romance by Becky Wade. Nora Bradford is a genealogist who loves researching people's families and helping them find answers. Former Navy SEAL John Lawson needs to find his birth family in order to find out about his inherited condition.   True to you was a sweet story and an even sweeter romance.
Even though I miss the Porter series I loved this first book in the Bradford Sister. Nora has become my favorite heroine of Becky's. Not only is Nora a genealogist and I believe librarian she's a booknerd. Who loves BBC drama's a girl after my own heart.  I have to say we need more needy heroines in fiction.   Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Review of Finding his way home

Finding His Way Home: Title: Finding his way Home

Author: Mia Ross

Series:  Barrett's Mill book 3

Chapters: 12 plus epilogue

Pages: 224

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 4 stars

Scott Barrett is the prodigal Barrett Son. Who's made it back home. After a stint in prison. He doesn't feel like he belongs anywhere, he's trying to find his place in his family again.  Jenna Reed is an artist who's never really put down roots anywhere. She's basically running from her past. A past that she has yet to make peace with.  She doesn't stay in one place to long.

Two people who don't feel like they belong anywhere might just need each other.  Finding his way Home is a sweet Christian romance. Just like the rest of the books in this series I really enjoyed this book.

Review of a Love Like Ours

A sneak peek at an excerpt from A Love Like Ours! Plus, Tressa at Wishful Endings is offering a giveaway for signed copies of the first two books in the Porter Family series -- Undeniably Yours and Meant to Be Mine!Title: A Love Like Ours

Author: Becky Wade

Series: Porter Family book 3

Chapters: 27 plus epilogue

Pages: 352

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

A Love Like Ours is the third book in the Porter family series, and it's the one that I've most wanted to read. I've wanted to read Jake's story since the first Porter book. I wanted to learn about the scared and troubled Marine.  Jake Porter struggles with PTSD and doesn't think that he's good relationship materaial. Lyndie James is Jake's childhood and thinks he's worth fighting for. What neither one knows is that God has something far greater in mind, than either of them could imagine.

I enjoyed the book getting Jake's back story made understanding him easier. My favorite line from the book and maybe the whole series so far came from chapter 12 page 146, and it's a conversion between Jake and Lyndie's grandfather. It reminds me of a phase my dad and great uncle use to say to each other when I was growing up.

All and all I enjoyed reading A Love Like Ours and I am looking forward to Dru's story next.

Review of Meant to be Mine

Meant to Be Mine by Becky WadeTitle: Meant to be Mine

Author: Becky Wade

Series: A Porter Family Novel book 2

Chapters: 32

Pages: 372

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 4 star

Meant to Be Mine is the second book in the Porter family series. It is Ty’s story, Ty had made mistakes in the past but he’s learning from them. He’s also determined to make things right. After being hurt by Ty in the past Celia doesn't know if she can trust him in her life or her heart. She has to be even more careful with letting Ty into her life, because it is not just her heart on the line. But someone else's heart as well. Someone whose heart can be easily broken and hard to be repaired.

In this novel both Ty and Celia have to learn about forgiveness and God’s love and Grace. Under everything there were a few sweet romances and of course a cute kid.

After reading the second novel I can’t wait for the next book Jake’s story. After  reading Undeniably Yours and Meant to be Mine Jake is becoming my favorite Porter and I cannot wait to read his story.

Review of The Nurses Secret Suitor

The Nurse's Secret Suitor (Love Inspired\Eagle Point Emergency): Cheryl Wyatt: 9780373878444: Amazon.com: BooksTitle: The Nurses Secret Suitor

Author: Cheryl Wyatt

Series: Eagle Point Emergency book 3

Pages: 224

Ch: 15

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

The Nurse’s Secret Suitor is the third book in the Eagle Point Emergency series. Kate Dalton is a former Army nurse and now she is a trauma nurse. She wants to be the best trauma nurse she can. She feels that she has no time to show weakness.  Caleb Landis is an Army medic that has his heart set on being an Army Ranger. He doesn’t feel like he has time for a relationship.

I loved The Nurses Secret Suitor, I felt like it wasn’t just a love story between two people, but a story that showed God’s love for His people. That what makes the best love stories. What makes the Love Inspired line is that it is romance that ends happy but has a strong dose of faith and God’s love.

Regina Reggie to her friends is an American woman who would rather be working on cars than dressing up. Finds out that she is a princess when Tanner shows up at her body shop.  I enjoyed Princess Ever After more than I did the first book in the series.  To me this one made more sense to me

Review of Undeniably Yours

Undeniably Yours (A Porter Family, #1)Title: Undeniably Yours

Author: Becky Wade

Chapters: 24 plus epilogue

Pages: 380

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade was an awesome read. Bo Porter quickly became one of my favorite heroes. To me Bo is the perfect hero for a novel. He’s a cowboy a strong Christian and a former Marine. As someone whose real life heroes have always been Marines and other members of the Military.
Meg Cole learns throughout the novel that she is not her family name or her past.
I loved the fact that Bo was a simple man who loved horses and wanted to keep the horse farm up and running. Because it was basically his brother’s life line. Other favorite parts of the book was that Bo favorite drink was Dr. Pepper which surprising it’s headquarters is in Texas also there was a reference to one of my favorite country song by my favorite country singer in the book.

Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade has the right balance between cowboys, friendship and most importantly Faith. I cannot wait for Becky Wade’s next book.

Review of Sandwich with a side of Romance

Title: Sandwich with a Side of Romance

Author: Krista Phillips

Chapters: 40 Plus epilogue

Pages: 319

Genre: Christian Chick lit

Rating: 5 stars

Maddie Buckner has a past one that she is not happy about but she is now a new person in Christ. The one thing that she wants most is to get custody of her little brother Kyle. To her Reuben Callahan is standing in the way. That is because he got her fired from her job. He tries to make up for it by offering her a job in his restaurant.

Sandwich, with a side of Romance is a sweet romantic read. That was different than any other Christian romance I have read. Unlike most where the hero has a past, this one the heroine has a past, even though it was different it was a good different. It was nice to see that even though the heroine had a past she was forgiven in Christ and had a chance at a happy ending.

Review of The Cowboy Lawman

Title: The Cowboy Lawman

Author: Brenda Minton

Series: Cooper Creek, Love Inspired

Chapters: 17 plus Epilogue

Pages: 215

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Slade McKennon has been a lawman in Cooper creek for a few years. Five years ago he lost his wife in a car crash; Mia Cooper was his wife’s best friend as well as one of his best friends. He has yet to be able to move on.
Mia Cooper is an injured DEA agent who comes home to cooper creek to recover. Only to discover that her life is in danger, and Slade wants to protect her. Neither can let go of the past and move. Mia has loved Slade since she was a teenager but when her best friend said she loved him Mia kept her feelings to herself not wanting to hurt her two best friends.

I enjoyed The Cowboy Lawman then again I love all the books that I read. I love that the Love Inspired line is a romance line that puts God and faith at the center of the relationships and the romance in the book. It is nice to be able to pick up a romance knowing that it is going to be “clean” and PG.  I cannot wait for the next book in the Cooper Creek series. Brenda Minton has written another winner.

I received an e book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review of The Girl In the Glass

Title: The Girl in the Glass

Author: Susan Meissner

Series: no

Chapters: 33

Pages: 334

Genre: Christian Romance, Christian Fiction

Rating: 4 ½

The Girl in the Glass is the first book that I read by Susan Meissner but it will not be the last.  From the first page I was lost in the story. When Meg went to Italy I felt like I was there.
Meg has always wanted to go to Italy since she was a little and when she gets the chance she jumps at it. Like Meg I have also wanted to go to Italy since I was young. So I was able to relate to the book on a personal level.
After reading The Girl in the Glass Susan Meissner is now one of my go to authors.

"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review." All thoughts are my own.

Review of The Accidental Bride

Title: The Accidental Bride

Author: Denise Hunter

Series: A Big Sky Romance

Chapters: 40 plus epilogue

Pages: 295

Genre: Christian Romance, Christian Western

Rating: 4 ½ stars

Shay just wants to move on from the past and raise her daughter as a single mom.  Run her ranch and forget her first love. Travis can’t forget his first love, and how he foolish left her at the altar to go chase rodeo dreams.  With a founders day goof leaves them “accidentally” married they have two options find away to end the “accidental marriage” or give it a try.
The Accidental Bride is the second book in A Big Sky Romance. I enjoyed reading the story. But I didn’t like it as a good as The Trouble with Cowboys (which I ended up reading first) and A Cowboy’s Touch. Even though it was well written I think that the whole high school sweethearts get a chance story isn’t really my thing. However The Accidental Bride was still a good story, and I feel that others will enjoy it. I will be reading Denise Hunter’s books in the future.
