Jealousy Filled Donuts review

Jealousy Filled Donuts (Deputy Donut Mystery #3)
Title:  Jealousy Filled Donuts
Author:    Ginger Bolton
Pg: 288
Series:  Deputy Donut Mystery book 3
Genre:  Cozy Mystery
Rating:   4 stars
publisher: Kensington Publishing Corporation

Jealousy filled Donuts is the third book in the Deputy Donut Mystery series by Ginger Bolton and they just keep getting better and better.   A police-themed donut shop is indeed kind of cute, because for better or worse when people think donuts they think police.
This one is set around the fourth of July and Emily had even intention of staying out of trying to solve another murder. That is until someone begins trying to convince the police that she is the main suspect.  So she's determined to try to clear her name again.  Even though police Detective Brett doesn’t' want her to put herself in harm’s way.  Emily tends to be on the stubborn side.

I love Dep the cat and unofficial donut shop mascot.  This one is my favorite of the series so far. I have to say though the ending and suspect was a little bit too easy to predict.   But it was till good.

In Goodbye Cruller World by Ginger Bolton the second Deputy Donut  Emily Westhill is faced with another  murder and a state police detective with a grudge is determine to pin it on her and her donut shop. But then has her sight set the bride  Emily who's brand new husband was murder.
Emily's friend local police detective Brent doesn't want her investigating because of what happened last time.  But Emily wants to clear her friend's name.  Brent doesn't want anything to happen to her.  But as always Emily doesn't listen.
I enjoyed this second Deputy Donut novel.  With the 911 dispatcher and retired police chief turned donut owners. Emily owns it with her father-in-law along with a matchmaking cat named Dep.  I loved the donut recipes in the back of the book.  Like most cozy mysteries this was a quick and fun read. I look forward to future  Deputy Donut mysteries.

Review of The Survival of the Fritters

Survival of the Fritters (Deputy Donut Mystery #1)Title: Survival of the Fritters

Author: Ginger Bolton

Series: Deputy Donunt Mystery

Chapters: 38

Pages: 313

Genre: Cozy mystery

Rating: 4 stars

What's the first thing you think of when you think donuts?  If you are like most people you thought police. In Survival of the Fritters we are introduced to Emily Westhill who owns a donuts shop with her father-in-law the former police Chief of Fallingbrook Wisconsin.  The name of the donuts   shop is also a funny bit; Deputy Donuts. She also has a kitten named Deputy whom she shorten the name to Dep.
Emily is quite happy to leave her old life behind she was a 911 dispatcher before her husband was killed in the line of duty. Since then she has avoided his former partner content  to run Deputy Donuts with her father-in-law and sometimes hang out with her friends. But when she accidentally   finds herself in a murder investigation she decides to see it through, because something isn't right.
Survival of the Fritters was an interesting cozy mystery.  I hadn't read anything like it before.  But a retired cop and a 911 dispatcher opening a donuts shop kind of does make since when you think about it. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
