No Grater Crime by Maddie Day is the 9th Book in the Country Store Mystery series. That what I do enjoy the mystery in each book. I mostly continue to read this series to see what the characters are up to. I just love the small town in this book, that is literally right across the river from where I am in Kentucky. So the sitting is easy to picture as I read and the characters have begun to feel like family.  And I want to know what happens next in their lives. And I'm also a sucker for mysteries set in a small town.

The Cider Shop Rules I just love that puny title by Julie Anne Lindsey is the third book in the A Cider Shop Mystery series. And I have to say it’s my favorite of the three.  Winnie's finally found her footing and Sheriff Colton's finally grown on me, and Granny's feisty as ever.  The fall setting adds to the story as Cider goes perfect with fall. You get to see more emotion from Colton through its jealously. Just like with the previous books in this series you get more than the mystery you get a story of small town life and the people who make up this fictional small West Virginia farming town. Not only do you want to solve the mystery with Winnie, you want to visit with her friends and neighbors as well. This series is best read in order otherwise you will spoil yourself.

Still Knife Painting by Cheryl Hollon is the first book in A Paint and Shine Mystery. It’s only the second cozy mystery series I’ve read that set in Kentucky. And I’ve enjoyed this one.

It’s set in a small town in Eastern Kentucky and Miranda Trent the main character after inheriting her uncles farm is determined to open a cultural experience tourist place. That includes hiking painting classes in which the clients are walked through painting the local scenery with a moonshine tasting. She also hopes to open a moonshine distillery on the property.

But all her hopes are dashed when there’s a murder on the property. And she becomes the prime suspect. She’s determined to find the real killer and clear her name and save her business.

I loved reading a cozy mystery set in Kentucky. I’m a sucker for books with a Kentucky setting. There are a few stereotypes in the book some bad some neutral. Miranda’s favorite soda is Ale Eight which just happens to be Kentucky’s soft drink. They also refer to one of her sheriffs deputy’s as Barney Fife based on the way he acts. And the sad thing is there are some small town deputy’s that so remind me of Barney Fife.

The residents of the town are iffy of outsiders in the book which does sometimes happen in Kentucky small towns.

Murder in the Storybook Cottage is the sixth book in the A Book Retreat mystery series by Ellery Adams. And it was my favorite in the series so far.

Outside of the murder mystery this one focused on children lit and the love of reading. As well as giving the love of reading to children. As well as a sweet bookish proposal. Which I have to say was one of my favorite proposals in literature.

I look forward to the next book in this series. As well as looking for other books and series by her. This is one series that you need to read in order because even though each book has a different mystery the characters and an underlying storyline builds from book to book.

This book and series is the perfect cozy series for bookworms.

Pulp Friction is the second book in the A Cider Shop mystery series by Julie Anne Lindsey Winnie Montgomery s Cider shops business has started to pick up when another murder happens on the property.

Winnie starts to get involved in solving the murder even though Sheriff Colton Wise wants her to stay as far away from the crime and the murderer as possible.

I enjoyed this one more than the first one in the series as well as the slight hint of a romance blossoming.

Toxic Toffee is the fourth book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.  Bailey King is back in Harvest Ohio after filming a cooking show in New York when she's hit with an Easter crisis to make a giant bunny made out of toffee for the town's Easter celebration. 

However, she finds herself in the midst of another murder when the Amish rabbit farmer drops dead in front of her.  Aiden the sheriff's deputy wants her to stay out of it before she becomes the next victim.  

Each of the Amish Candy shop mysteries gets better than the one before it, especially now that Bailey is starting to see Harvest Ohio as home she's got a stake in the community and solving the murders and making sure the Amish community is treated fairly something her and Aiden can agree on even if the sheriff doesn't see it that way.

Jealousy filled Donuts is the third book in the Deputy Donut Mystery series by Ginger Bolton and they just keep getting better and better.   A police-themed donut shop is indeed kind of cute, because for better or worse when people think donuts they think police. 

This one is set around the fourth of July and Emily had even intention of staying out of trying to solve another murder. That is until someone begins trying to convince the police that she is the main suspect.  So she's determined to try to clear her name again.  Even though police Detective Brett doesn’t' want her to put herself in harm’s way.  Emily tends to be on the stubborn side. 

I love Dep the cat and unofficial donut shop mascot.  This one is my favorite of the series so far. I have to say though the ending and suspect was a little bit too easy to predict.   But it was till good.
