A Love Like Ours is the third book in the Porter
family series, and it's the one that I've most wanted to read. I've wanted to
read Jake's story since the first Porter book. I wanted to learn about the
scared and troubled Marine. Jake Porter struggles
with PTSD and doesn't think that he's good relationship materaial. Lyndie James
is Jake's childhood and thinks he's worth fighting for. What neither one knows
is that God has something far greater in mind, than either of them could
imagine.
I enjoyed the book getting Jake's back story made understanding
him easier. My favorite line from the book and maybe the whole series so far
came from chapter 12 page 146, and it's a conversion between Jake and Lyndie's
grandfather. It reminds me of a phase my dad and great uncle use to say to each
other when I was growing up.
All and all I enjoyed reading A
Love Like Ours and I am looking forward to Dru's story next.
