Making Marion is a bit of a modern retelling
of Robin Hood with a twist. Marian Miller is an Irish library employee who
walks away from an engagement. She travels to Sherwood England in order to find
out about her father's past. He died when she was a child. Instead she ends up
at the Peace and Pigs camp ground and working for a woman named Scarlet. She
meets Reuben Hatherstone the son of the lord of the neighboring estate.
Making
Marion is the typical chick lit, and once you get past the British
humor it a fairly quick read. I enjoyed this Robin Hood twist complete with
Robin Hood festival. Marian is Marian while Reuben is the Robin character.
Making
Marion is a book that will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love with
the characters. You will hurt and ache and mourn with them. But will cheer when
two characters ride off in to a happily ever after. I am looking forward to the
author's next book.
