Murphy's Slaw is the third book in the Alaskan Diner series by Elizabeth Logan and Charlie is basically an unofficial deputy of the Alaskan State troopers.  She didn't even have to butt in to be able to help solved this murder.  I have to say that this one might be my favorite of the series so far.  I think it has something to do with the fact that in this one the reader gets to feel even more like an Alaskan tourist because the trio gets to attend the Alaskan state fair granted it’s to solve  a murder.  But it’s still the fair.   And with the details the author provides it feels like your almost there. And after more than a year of no traveling I love even more to travel through the pages of a good book.  And this is my favorite puny title of the series.

 Fishing for Trouble by Elizabeth Logan is the second book in the Alaskan Diner Mystery series. I enjoyed this arm chair visit to Alaska that included a mystery. The second book in the series was faster paced than the first in the series. Because setting and characters have already been developed. And like all good cozies this one includes a sweet cat. And unlike most cozies this series has a law enforcement officer who doesn’t mind outside help, which makes me think the case is because it’s set in small town Alaska. And from reading this series I’ve learned small town Alaska is more like a village in lower 48 terms.

Mousse and Murder is the first book in the Alaskan Dinner Mystery by Elizabeth Logan. It was also my first cozy mystery set in Alaska. I loved the small town Alaska setting and meeting all the characters especially Eggs Benedict Benny for short Charlie’s cat.

Dinner owner and chef Charlie Cooke finds herself involved in a murder mystery when her head chef is killed and is considered a suspect. She teams up with newspaper reporter Chris Doucette to find the real killer and clean her name.

This was a fairly quick read and I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and other books by this author.
