    Tacos for Two is the newest rom com by Betsy St. Amant and I loved it. Rory Perez is a bookish kindred spirit. I mean the girl owns a food truck and can’t cook. I relate to the can’t cook part not owning a food truck. As well as loyalty to family. Jude Strong took a little bit to warm up to but once I did, I liked him as well.

I loved the banter between the characters. I laughed with Rory I also cried with her. I wanted to find out how the book ended but on the same note I didn’t want it to end.

Hannah was my favorite character and there was so much wisdom for someone so young. And I love how Rory was trying to do her best for Hannah. And how she was loyal to family.

I enjoyed that Tacos for Two was not only a romance but a story of family. Both blood and chosen. One of my favorite lines was “Taco grease is thicker than water.” From aunt Sophia which to me means family is what you make of it.

I enjoyed Tacos for Two even though I’ve never seen You’ve Got Mail because I did get some of the references. But I’ve moved the movie up on my to watch list. So even if you haven’t seen the movie, you will still enjoy the book and if you have, you’ll enjoy finding the Easter eggs.

I love Betsy’s books because they are rom coms in book form and Tacos for Two was no different. And I look forward to future books.

Bri Duval is a hopeless romantic Gerard Fortier is anything but. However the bakery she works at goes viral thanks to the love lock wall and the matchmakers who own the bakery put them on the path to meet when travel writer Gerard is sent to cover the wall the matchmakers and the bakery. The two main characters couldn’t be more different but that’s what makes for such an interesting story.

That while this is Bri and Gerard story it’s the secondary characters that stood out the most to me. Though I did love Bri’s and Gerard’s banter though not everyone will. I love how the secondary couple show Bri and the reader that love isn’t always perfect that more often than its messy.

Mabel and Agnes the bakery owners and matchmakers reminded me of a couple of older people at my church that love to play matchmaker even when the person they are trying to match up doesn’t want it.

I generally don’t cry when I read romances and even made it to chapter twenty five before i started crying. Mr. Mac was the character that brought tears to my eyes when he told Bri what he told her in chapter twenty five. I should have known that it would be the Marine in the book who would bring tears to my eyes. Mr. Macs love story takes the Marine Corp motto Semper Fidelis to an even more personal motto for Mr. Mac he’s also the character that i picture my dad being like at that age for many of the same reasons makes that part of the story personal for me.

I love this book and I didn’t want it to end. Not to mention that the author made me cry and that’s not an easy thing to do.

Readers who are fans of Betsy’s previous books as well as Becky wades Bradford sisters series and Jessica Kate will enjoy this book. And those who love Hallmark movies will love this book.

                The Rancher’ Next door is another great love inspired book by Betsy St. Amant. The book has a cowboy and a firefighter in it. However they aren’t the same person, in this book the firefighter happens to be the heroine.

     I love that the love inspired line is a quick read but still focuses on faith and trusting God.

                Addison Blakely: Confessions of A PK, is a laugh out, cry out loud, relating to what you’re going through as a teenage or remembering your teenage years.  Addison is a preacher’s or Pastor’s daughter in some circles known as a PK. The book goes through the ups and downs of teenage life.

     Addison Blakely: Confessions of A PK, is the first young adult novel that Betsy St. Amant. I have loved every book that she has written for Love Inspired, and Addison Blakely was also a favorite. Even though it was a book written for teens I found I could relate to some of what Addison was going through.

     For me it was a walk down memory lane. Without the PK part, however one of my best friends growing up was a PK. Some of what Addison did reminded me of what I did in high school.

      Addison Blakely: Confessions of A PK is the perfect book for teens and even their moms. As a college student I have to say I loved it as well.

I won the book from a contest on the Author’s website I was not required to write a review. The thoughts and reactions were my own.

Fireman Dad book review

     The daughter of a fireman and a widow of another Marissa isn’t sure she wants to give love another chance. She wants to raise her son and focus on him. She never thought that one man that she fell for would be a fireman, who becomes her son’s hero. What is a woman to do who’s lost her faith? Will she return to God’s loving arms, and trust His will or will she continue to run?

     I first discovered Betsy St. Amant when I read her book Return to Love. A book about an aquerimen worker who is a penguin keeper; who’s fighting to protect them and gets a second chance at love. The book caught my eye because it had my favorite animal in it penguins. From the first book to Fireman Dad Betsy St.Amant’s books have been wonderful reads. With messages of God’s love and faithfulness woven through the story. Her books combine some of the elements that I love to read about; God, laugther, and love. One of the great things about her romance novels are that they are clean.

     Safe for teens to read, to see “couples” having God at the center of their relationship; even though they go through troubles with God first they can get through everything. Just like in real life God never promised easy just possible.
