I’ve come to the conclusion that Katherine Reay’s books at least the physical version are hit or miss for me. However I have discovered that I prefer her books on audio to print. To me women’s fiction is better on audio for me.

Of Literature and Latte is the companion novel to The Printed Letter Bookshop. I wouldn’t consider it a sequel it has some of the same characters as the previous novel but the two main characters in this book are new characters.

However there’s slight spoilers for secondary characters in this one who were main characters in the first one. So if you don’t like any spoilers then I recommend reading The Printed Letter Bookshop first.

Books by Katherine Reay are either hit or miss for me, with more books being misses.  However, that was not the case with The Printed Letter Bookshop I don't know if that's because of the sitting of the book or the fact that I listened to it on audio. Madeline Cullen has inherited her aunt's bookshop, but it's a bookshop that's more in the red than the black.  Her two employees Janet and Claire  were loyal to her aunt Maddie and all they see in Madeline is a niece who never visited.   Madeline doesn't want to keep the bookshop she wants to sell it as soon as possible and get back to life as a lawyer.  But it seems like nothing wants to go her way. 

I loved the small-town bookshop setting as well as the people who popped in and out of the bookshop.   The bookshop was a character in its own right in the story.  I am a sucker for stories set in a bookshop the better if it is in a small-town.   

After enjoying this one on audio I think I going to listen to the rest of her books that I haven't read on audio to see if the audio version makes it easier to read.

Review of Dear Mr. Knightly

I didn’t know what to think when I first started Dear Mr.  Knightly because I had never read a novel written almost entirely written in letter from. I am glad that I picked up the novel. I really did enjoy the story.

I didn’t really know what to make of Samantha when I first started reading. Samantha had a habit of hiding behind her books afraid to take a chance.

Fans of English lit will get the references. Dear Mr. Knightly is a sweet and enjoyable read that any fan of English Lit will enjoy reading I would recommend this book to anyone.
