Review of a Pony Express Christmas

A Pony Express Christmas (Love Inspired Historical) - Kindle edition by Rhonda Gibson.Title: A Pony Express Christmas

Author: Rhonda Gibson

Chapters: 18 plus epilogue

Pages: 277

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Rating: 5 stars

A Pony Express Christmas is a Christmas novel from love inspired historical that is a marriage of convenience. Jake Bridges is a stock tender at a pony express station.  Leah Hollister is an orphan that has come to Colorado as a mail order bride, who is also bringing Jake’s niece Molly to him. When Leah learns that her groom has died, Jake offers to marry her so that Molly will have someone to look after her while he works.

Jake can offer her a home and friendship but nothing more. But what neither realizes is that Christmas is the time for miracles. Even though it was a fictional novel I am glad that the author included real pony express riders like William Cody who would later become Buffalo Bill Cody. Even before this book I knew Cody was a pony express rider from watching the tv show the Young Riders as a kid. I’ve always loved the Pony express time in history I just wish there was more historical fiction novels about this time period.

Check out Betsy St. Amant's New Novella

Happily ever after begins today. The honor of your presence is requested at three winter weddings . . .
A December Bride by Denise Hunter
When Layla O'Reilly and Seth Murphy make their engagement public, she knows it's only to convince a major client that she's high-society enough to work for his agency. Seth has secretly loved Layla for years, but she's never given him the time of day. For Layla, this romantic illusion is the chance to save her career. And for Seth, it's the chance to finally win her heart.
A January Bride by Deborah Raney
Novelist Madeleine Houser arranges a temporary office in a local bed and breakfast to escape the distracting renovations on her own house. Although she's never laid eyes on the inn's owner, an unlikely friendship blossoms between them as they leave daily notes for each other, and before long, Maddie finds herself falling for her mysterious host—a man likely many years her senior—and a man she's never even met.
A February Bride by Betsy St. Amant
History repeats itself when Allie Andrews escapes the church on her wedding day—wearing the same dress passed down for generations of women in her family, all women with histories of failed marriages. Allie loves Marcus but fears she's destined to repeat her family's mistakes. When thrown unexpectedly together for a wedding months later, Allie and Marcus discover their own story might be far from over.
Betsy St. Amant has a heart for three things - chocolate, new shoes and sharing the amazing news of God's grace through her novels. She resides in Louisiana with her adorable, story-telling young daughter, a collection of Austen novels and an impressive stash of Pickle Pringles. Betsy has a B.A. in Communications, is multi-published in fiction, and freelances for her local newspaper. She also enjoys inspirational speaking and teaching on the craft of writing. When she's not composing her next book or trying to figure out where Mr. Darcy went, she can usually be found somewhere in the vicinity of a white-chocolate mocha, or singing along with her daughter to the latest Disney soundtrack

Review of A Rancher for Christmas

A Rancher for Christmas by Brenda MintonTitle: A Rancher for Christmas

Author: Brenda Minton

Series: Martin’s Crossing book 1

Chapters: 18 Plus a epilogue

Pages: 215

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 5 stars

While I was sad to see  the Cooper’s and the Dawson go I really enjoyed A Rancher for Christmas the first book in the Martin’s Crossing series. It was a nice to see at least on familiar face in the book and in this case it was Breezy Hernandez Mia Cooper’s baby sister.  Mia finds out that she has a brother that she never knew about only to later lose him. She then finds that he named her co gurdain of his twin toddler girls with his best friend and brother-in-law Jake Martin.
After first Beezy and Jake don’t know what to make of each other or rather or not they can trust each other. It almost seems like it’s going to take a Christmas Miracle. My favorite character is Joe who everyone thinks he is a homeless drifter but that ends up being the biggest surprise in the book.

Overall I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.  I received   an e-book from Netgalley in exchange for on honest review.

Chapters: 12

I didn’t know how I was going to feel about this book. But I enjoyed it, because as an library employee its to know that other libraries out there have the same crazy stories to share. It’s not just one library.  This book had me laughing from the first page to the last page.
