A Royal Christmas for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos review

Title:  A Royal Christmas for the Marine

Ch: 20 plus epilogue

Pg:  156

Series: First Comes Love book 4

Genre:  Christmas Rom Com, Rom Com

Rating: 5 stars

The wait for A Royal Christmas for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos. It ended up being my favorite of the First Comes love series. And I tend to not like Royal romances because i don’t like the normal girl becoming a princess. But apparently when the girl is a Marine who becomes a Princess I’m hooked.

I loved Maya and Theo equally and I had a slight nerdy marvel moment learning Maya grew up a carnie as my favorite superhero started life as a carnie. And that Maya chose the Marines in order to have a family. And when she thought, she was going to lose everything Theo reminded her she would always be a Marine. I loved that Theo truly did love her and wanted to be there for her. They really did bring. Out the best in each other.

A Princess for the Marine by Jess Matorakos review

Series: First Comes Love book 3

Who needs Prince Charming when you can have a US Marine. I’ve never me a huge fan of the royalty trope in books or movies because most of the time it’s a regular girl who falls for a prince. Outside of Beauty and Beauty all my favorite Disney movies Aladdin, Tangled, and Brave have a princess who doesn’t fit the mold or falls for the commoner. How Jess Mastorakos changed my mind. Though it just might be because it’s a princess and a commoner is a US Marine. When my friends were dreaming of marrying a prince as a kid, I was dreaming of marrying a US Marine there’s just something about the uniform.

I didn’t think any book in this series would top A Blind Date for the Marine but then I read A Princess for the Marine and I was hooked from page one. I loved Huck and Zara from page one. I can’t believe Huck’s mom stuck him with that name. To me the banter in this was the best of the series.

I loved Huck’s relationship with his mom and sister Alice. It makes him seem real and makes him an even better hero as doesn’t his modesty about his service. Zara is a princess who wants to be a doctor. Who learns that her original plan might not be the best.

Zara might be giving up being a princess and working royal but that doesn’t mean she’ll be giving up attending a ball the guest list is just a little different. I loved the ending of this one along with the epilogue that summed up the series though I kind of want Theo’s story.

A Blind Date for a Marine by Jess Mastorakos review

Title:  A Blind Date for the Marine

Author:  Jess Mastorakos

Ch: 24 Plus Epilogue

Pg:  207

Series: First Comes Love

Genre:  Rom Com Sweet Romance

Rating: 5 stars

Publisher: self-published

A Blind Date for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos is the second book in the () series. I loved this one more than the first one. In this one we get Mateo's and Claire’s story. Claire is Amy's best friend and assistant from the first book and Mateo is one of Dex's Marine Buddies.  Jess has given me with this series something I found lacking in Rom Com's and Romance books that exists in real life. Nerdy Marines. Even time author's write Marine heroes even in romance they play into the stereotype. But I know from my own life of being raised by a nerdy Marine   and having plenty of nerdy Marine "uncles" they do exist, and I want more of it in books.  Jess has at least given us to nerdy Marine heroes first with Dex and now Mateo and one more in this series.

What makes me love this one more than the first book is Claire's a closet romance writer and a bookworm who lives above a bookshop. But Mateo is book nerd himself and loves to read which in my book makes him swoon worthy.  I love a man who loves to read.   Though I was swooning throughout the book there's a line in the epilogue that Mateo says to Claire that makes him one of my new favorite rom com heroes.

Though they are technically standalone books I recommend reading them in order so not to spoil the romance in the first book. I am convinced that this series would make awesome movies and you can't tell me otherwise.

A Match for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos review

Title:  A Match for the Marine

A Match For the Marine by Jess Mastorakos has become one of my favorite rom coms. I loved the banter between Amy and Dex. And what can I say I’m a sucker for a romance with a Marine. And what made Dex so much so because he’s a nerdy Marine and that makes him so much more realistic at least to me because I was raised by a nerdy Marine and the majority that i know tend to be on the nerdy side. I look forward to the next book in the series.
