Growing up is told from Colt’s and his dad’s Brad’s point of view. Growing up Colt covers Colt’s life from early childhood till he’s drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2010.Not being a football fan I didn’t learn about Colt McCoy until I read Mike Yokey’s book Playing with Purpose.
Even though the book talks about football, it mostly focuses on Colt’s life going up and his faith. He’s the first to admit that he owes it all to God. That without God he’d have nothing. To me the book was more about Colt growing up and his faith, his family than football. All in all it was a good book.
Carissa: Thanks for reviewing "Growing Up Colt"! You can't read every book in the world, so that you chose to read Colt and Brad's book, as well as my other book, "Playing with Purpose," meant a lot to me. You're quite a reader.
ReplyDeleteCan I give you a head's up about my new World War II novel coming out in late December? It's called "Chasing Mona Lisa" and it involves the famous painting. You can find out a little more at www.chasingmonalisa.com
All the best to you! Mike Yorkey
