I have to say that I think this one was one of my favorites of the series. Quite frankly I think Lucy really does need Charles the cat as a side kick. He truly is a good judge of character and he got to be a hero cat.

Deadly Ever After by Eva Gates is the 8th book in The Lighthouse Library mystery series. Lucy has settled into life in Nags Head and her parents are finally accepting her choice when someone from her past shows up to try to get her the change her mind.  And Lucy again finds herself involved in another murder mystery. But at least this time the lighthouse library isn't involved.   For once with this series I did not see the twist coming nor did I figure out who did it before Lucy did.

 

And I have to say Charles the library cat still remains my favorite character in this series and he once again does it by showing what a good judge of character he is.    But Lucy's, Charles and the rest of the library staff's futures are changing and I can't wait to see where it takes them.

A Death Long Overdue by the Eva Gates is the 7th book in the A Lighthouse Library mystery series. And even though it's fictional I love the whole library in a lighthouse, and Charles the library cat is still my favorite character.  I love that Lucy's finally settled into life in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. 

 

With this being the 7th book in the series it's hard to describe much without giving to much of the plot of previous books.  But I do have to say something happened in this book that I've been wanting to happen since book four.   So I am defiantly looking forward to the next book in the series.

Read and Buried by Eva Gates is the sixth book in the Lighthouse Library Mystery series, and I keep enjoying the series. Who wouldn't love a library in a lighthouse?  I still have to say that my favorite character in the series is Charles the library cat. 

This cozy just like the previous ones in the series the book club book pick has aspects of the story that play apart in the mystery that Lucy keeps finding herself trying to solve even though she keeps promising that her mystery-solving days are behind her. We all know there not.

Something Read, Something Dead is the fifth book in the Lighthouse Library Series by Eva Gates. Lucy Richardson thought that she was just going to be planning her cousin's wedding. Instead she finds herself trying to solve a murder and clear her cousin's name.  Otherwise there's not going to be wedding. 

Just like the first books in the series I love the library set in a lighthouse along with the resident cat Charles, every library needs a cat and ever cozy mystery heroines needs a sidekick. Charles the cat happens to be Lucy's.   Even with this being book five in the series the mysteries still have a mystery to them.  Leaving the reader guessing till the last chapter who the bad guy is.  

I do recommend reading this books in order even though each mystery is a standalone, you lose the character and relationship development if you read them out of order.  These books are perfect for anyone who loves cozy mysteries, cats, and libraries.

The Spook in the Stacks is the fourth Lighthouse Library Mystery by Eva Gates and Lucy and Charles are back for a new mystery. Charles is the loveable cat who lives in the library. Lucy thought her time of solving mysteries was behind her. That is until just before Halloween when Jay Ruddle a businessman is found death in the library the rare book room of all places.  Lucy plans to stay out of it and let the police handle it.  But when the police's prime suspect is the victim’s granddaughter whom Lucy believes couldn't do it she decides to investigate on her own.

The police chief wants Lucy to stick to just being a librarian and leave the police work to the professionals.  But as a librarian people who won't talk to the police will talk to her.  

What I love about this book and the series as a whole is that Charles the library cat has a habit of pointing out clues to Lucy that end up leading her towards the person who committed the crime or murder.  But look adorable while doing it.  Charles likes just about everyone who comes into the library that if he doesn't like someone there's a reason. 

I love that this series focuses on a library inside a lighthouse as far as I know this is the only cozy mystery series about a library inside a lighthouse.  In a small beach town in the outer banks of North Carolina that hasn't completely been touched by the developers. 

The Spook in the Stacks is great for anyone who loves libraries, lighthouses, cats, and cozy mysteries. And as always I look forward to the next one in the series.
